Venkateshwara, one of the forms of Lord Vishnu, is worshipped across India – the most famous shrine being the Tirupati Venkateshwara located on the Tirumala Hills in Andhra Pradesh. A glimpse of Lord Venkateshwara at Tirumala feels like a rare blessing of divine mercy. You will be delighted to know that Bengaluru is home to two beautiful Venkateshwara temples built by ISKCON Bangalore. One is the Sri Rajadhiraja Govinda Temple, located at ISKCON Vaikuntha Hill, Vasanthapura, and the other is the Sri Srinivasa Govinda Temple, situated at ISKCON Hare Krishna Hill, Rajajinagar.

You can visit these temples to escape from the mundane and find spiritual solace. They offer a serene experience and spiritual bliss similar to being in Lord Venkateshwara’s temple at Tirumala.

Sri Rajadhiraja Govinda and other utsava deities

Situated atop the Vaikuntha Hill, the Sri Rajadhiraja Govinda Temple is one of the most beautiful landmarks of Bengaluru. What catches your attention at first sight is the temple’s Tirumala-inspired aesthetic and grand architecture. As you ascend the hill, you will pass through the beautiful Sri Radha Krishnachandra temple before reaching the majestic Sri Rajadhiraja Govinda shrine. Upon reaching there, you will get to see the beautiful Deity of Lord Govinda standing beyond seven ornate doors radiating with splendour. The temple complex also houses shrines dedicated to Sri Lakshmi Narasimha, Sudarshana Narasimha, Srimati Rajalakshmi Padmavathi and Vishwa Guru Srila Prabhupada, who reside at the quarters of the inner courtyard of the Sri Rajadhiraja Govinda temple. Rajalakshmi Padmavathi Devi’s darshan is captivating. The temples of Sri Garuda and Sri Hanuman face the mula-vigraha of Sri Rajadhiraja Govinda.

The temple’s peaceful ambience and well-maintained surroundings make it a wonderful place of pilgrimage. Reaching the temple is convenient too.

Vaikuntha Hill is located very close to Doddakallasandra Metro Station. From there, it is only ten minutes away using the booked ride services. If you prefer walking, it is just a 20-minute walk through the lanes. For those who drive, the temple offers ample parking space.
