About the Job
A carpenter builds, installs, and repairs structures and fixtures made from wood and other materials
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical plans.
- Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood, plywood, and other materials.
- Build and install building frameworks including walls, doors, and window frames.
- Fit interior components such as cabinets, molding, and flooring.
- Inspect and repair damaged wooden structures and fixtures.
Required Experience and Skills
- Completion of a carpentry apprenticeship or several years of proven field experience.
- Strong skill in using hand and power tools (saws, drills, levels).
- Good math skills for accurate measuring and layout.
