Bhoga offering mantra

The ISKCON bhoga offering involves reciting a specific sequence of mantras while ringing a small bell to invite the Lord to accept the food.

Each of the following prayers should be chanted three times

1. Srila Prabhupada Pranam Mantra

First, you offer respects to the spiritual master (Srila Prabhupada), as it is through his mercy that the offering is accepted.

nama om visnu-padaya krsna-presthaya bhu-tale
srimate bhaktivedanta-svamin iti namine

namas te sarasvate deve gaura-vani-pracarine
nirvisesa-sunyavadi-pascatya-desa-tarine

2. Lord Chaitanya Pranam Mantra

Next, you offer prayers to Lord Chaitanya, who is the most merciful incarnation of Krishna.

namo maha-vadanyaya krsna-prema-pradaya te
krsnaya krsna-caitanya-namne gaura-tvise namah

3. Lord Krishna Pranam Mantra

Then, you offer prayers directly to Lord Krishna

namo brahmanya-devaya go-brahmana-hitaya ca
jagad-dhitaya krsnaya govindaya namo namah

4. Concluding Mantras

To conclude, you chant the following once or three times each:

  • Pancha-Tattva Mantra: sri-krsna-caitanya prabhu nityananda sri-advaita gadadhara srivasadi-gaura-bhakta-vrnda
  • Hare Krishna Mahamantra: Hare Krsna Hare Krsna Krsna Krsna Hare Hare, Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare

Quick Steps for Offering

  • Preparation: Ensure the food is vegetarian (no onion or garlic) and prepared in a clean kitchen without tasting it before.
  • Presentation: Place a fresh Tulasi leaf on each preparation before offering.
  • Offering: Place the plate before the Deities or a picture of Radha Krishna, Panchatattva and Srila Prabhupada. Chant the mantras while ringing a bell.
  • Waiting: Leave the offering for 5–15 minutes for the Lord to relish the food.
  • Conclusion: Ring the bell again, remove the plate, and transfer the food back to the main vessels. The food is now sanctified Prasadam.
