{"id":8017,"date":"2026-07-04T19:03:41","date_gmt":"2026-07-04T13:33:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.iskconbangalore.org\/blog\/?p=8017"},"modified":"2026-07-04T19:03:44","modified_gmt":"2026-07-04T13:33:44","slug":"vakreshvara-pandita","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.iskconbangalore.org\/blog\/vakreshvara-pandita\/","title":{"rendered":"Sri Vakreshvara Pandita"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sri Vakreshvara Pandita was the fifth branch of Lord <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iskconbangalore.org\/blog\/childhood-pastimes-chaitanya-mahaprabhu\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"3\" title=\"Chaitanya Bala Lila: Childhood Pastimes of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu\">Chaitanya<\/a> Mahaprabhu&#8217;s devotional tree and was a very dear servant of the Lord. The <em>Gaura-ga\u1e47odde\u015ba-d\u012bpik\u0101 (71)<\/em> states that he was an incarnation of Aniruddha, one of the four expansions of Lord Vishnu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sri Vakreshvara Pandita was famous for his extraordinary devotion and could dance continuously for seventy-two hours. During the dramatic performances held at the house of Srivasa Pandita, he was one of the principal dancers in Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu&#8217;s kirtans. His life has also been described by Sri Govinda Dasa in the book <em>Gaura Krishnodaya<\/em>. Many of his disciples in Orissa became known as Gaudiya Vaishnavas, including Sri Gopala Guru and his disciple Sri Dhyanachandra Goswami.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Devananda Pandita was a professional reciter of Srimad Bhagavatam. Later, when Sri Vakreshvara Pandita stayed at his home and explained the science of Krishna, Devananda became convinced of the identity of Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu.
