Sri Vrindavana Dasa Thakura was born of her womb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Narayani and Her Identity in Gaura-ga\u1e47odde\u015ba-d\u012bpik\u0101<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In text 43 of the Gaura-ga\u1e47odde\u015ba-d\u012bpik\u0101, a book written by Kavi-karnapura that describes all the associates of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and who they previously were, there is the following statement regarding Narayani:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>ambik\u0101y\u0101\u1e25 svas\u0101 y\u0101s\u012bn n\u0101mn\u0101 \u015br\u012bla-kilimbik\u0101 k\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47occhi\u1e63\u1e6da\u1e41 prabhu\u00f1j\u0101n\u0101 seya\u1e41 n\u0101r\u0101ya\u1e47\u012b mat\u0101<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When Lord Krishna was a child, He was nursed by a woman named Ambika, who had a younger sister named Kilimbika. During the time of Lord Chaitanya&#8217;s incarnation, the same Kilimbika used to eat the remnants of food left by Lord Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. That Kilimbika was Narayani, who was a niece of Srivasa Thakura. Later, when she grew up and married, Sri Vrindavana Dasa Thakura was born from her womb. A devotee of Lord Sri Krishna is celebrated in terms of devotional service rendered to the Lord; thus we know Sri Vrindavana Dasa Thakura as the son of Narayani. Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura notes in this connection that there is no reference to his paternal ancestry because there is no need to understand it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Position as Vyasa of Chaitanya-lila<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Sri Chaitanya-charitamrita (Adi-lila 11.55) states:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>bh\u0101gavate k\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a-l\u012bl\u0101 var\u1e47il\u0101 vedavy\u0101sa caitanya-l\u012bl\u0101te vy\u0101sa\u2013v\u1e5bnd\u0101vana d\u0101sa<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sri Vyasadeva described the pastimes of Krishna in Srimad-Bhagavatam. The Vyasa of the pastimes of Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu was Vrindavana Dasa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He is described as a combined incarnation of Vedavyasa and also as the cowherd boy Kusumapida.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Sri Chaitanya Bhagavata Glories<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Sri Vrindavana Dasa Thakura, the son of Srimati Narayani, composed Sri Chaitanya-mangala, , the work was later renamed Chaitanya-bhagavata when Sri Locana Dasa Thakura composed another book with the same title. This work presents the glories of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and describes His pastimes in detail.
