The sacred Ganges flows gently nearby, adding to the spiritual atmosphere of this holy place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A Story of Migration:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sri Mahesha Pandita originally resided on the eastern side of Jirat in a village called Masipura (also known as Yasipura). However, when Masipura merged into the riverbed of Ganges, the worshipable Deities had to be relocated. They found their new home in Palapada, a village beautifully situated among neighboring settlements including Beledanga, Berigrama, Sukhasagara, Chandude, and Manasapota. This entire region, comprising about fourteen villages, is collectively known as Pancanagara Paragana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A Divine Festival:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once, there was a festival organized by Sri <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iskconbangalore.org\/blog\/lord-nityananda-pastimes\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"7\" title=\"Pastimes of Lord Nityananda\">Nityananda<\/a> Prabhu at Panihati. The great Narottama Dasa Thakura was also present there, and Mahesha Pandita had the fortune to meet Srila Narottama Dasa Thakura on this auspicious occasion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The Sacred Temple Today:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The temple of Mahesha Pandita houses several worshippable Deities of Sri Gaura-Nityananda, Sri Gopinatha, Sri Madana-mohana, and Sri Radha-Govinda, along with a salagrama-sila.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Srila Bhaktisiddh\u0101nta Sarasvati Thakura provides us with historical details about the Mahesha Pandita in his commentary.
