What will I find there?\u2019<\/strong> <em>are the intriguing questions for which one seeks answers.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The commonly found descriptions are fantastic and hilarious, to say the least.&nbsp;Those who die for the cause of God, are martyrs who are promised unimaginable rewards such as, <strong>\u201cYou will have eighty thousand servants and enjoy the pleasurable amorous company of seventy-two virgin angels in heaven.\u201d<\/strong> Doesn\u2019t this description sound more like a bachelor party at Goa than the life at eternal heaven?!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">People, in general, are ignorant&nbsp;and they are most attached, to the fruitive activities. They only desire sense gratification and consider that as the ultimate happiness. Hence, even after death, they desire wine, women and material luxury in heaven or <em>svarga<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Driven by this propensity to enjoy material comforts, the Vedic literature propels the living entity to make specific sacrifices to attain heavenly planets, also called <em>svarga<\/em> loka. For instance, if one has any desire to go to the moon, the sun or any other planet, one can attain the desired destination by following specific Vedic principles recommended for that purpose, such as the process technically known as <em>dar\u015ba-paur\u1e47am\u0101s<\/em>. However, when the merit of such sacrifices are exhausted, one must descend back to earth as stated by Krishna in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iskconbangalore.org\/blog\/why-bhagavad-gita-as-it-is\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"Why \u2018Bhagavad Gita As It Is\u2019?\">Bhagavad Gita<\/a> 9.21<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>te ta\u1e41 bhuktv\u0101 svarga-loka\u1e41 vi\u015b\u0101la\u1e41<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>k\u1e63\u012b\u1e47e pu\u1e47ye martya-loka\u1e41 vi\u015banti<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>eva\u1e41 tray\u012b-dharmam anuprapann\u0101<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>gat\u0101gata\u1e41 k\u0101ma-k\u0101m\u0101 labhante<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;When they have thus enjoyed heavenly sense of pleasure, they return to this mortal planet again. But one who attains to My abode, O son of Kunti, never takes birth again.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">So, one has to realise that all the heavenly comforts are bodily, and with the perishing of the body, even the so-called happiness perishes too. Each universe is comprised of billions of planets which are grouped under three divisions namely<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><em>\u016brdhva<\/em><em>-loka<\/em> (upper planetary system)<\/strong> &#8211; Heavenly Planets are part of this planetary system<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><em>madhya-loka<\/em> (middle planetary system)<\/strong> &#8211; Earthly planets&nbsp;are part of this planetary system<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><em>adho-loka<\/em> (lower planetary system)<\/strong> &#8211; Hellish planets such as <em>P\u0101t\u0101la&nbsp;<\/em>are part of this planetary system<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-5155 \" src=\"https:\/\/www.iskconbangalore.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/TA1038-210x300.jpg\" alt=\"Is Vaikuntha same as Svarga?\" width=\"306\" height=\"437\" title=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.iskconbangalore.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/TA1038-210x300.jpg 210w, https:\/\/www.iskconbangalore.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/TA1038.jpg 717w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 306px) 100vw, 306px\" \/>All the planets put together in all the billions of universes constitute only one-fourth of the total creation of the Lord and the remaining three-fourths is the spiritual world where Vaikuntha planets are situated.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Within a universe, beyond the <em>\u016brdhva<\/em><em>-loka<\/em> planets, the highest of which is the Brahmaloka, are the seven material coverings of the universe, and beyond that is the <em>para vyoma<\/em> (spiritual sky) where unlimited Vaikuntha planets are situated. Every Vaikuntha planet is unlimitedly expanded. It is many, many times bigger than the biggest universe within the material world. Thus, heavenly planets are part of the material creation whereas the Vaikuntha planets are completely spiritual and they are located in the spiritual sky.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In conclusion, our ultimate goal of life should be to go to Vaikuntha planets, not the heavenly planets.
