Quality 10<\/strong>: Lord R<\/strong>\u0101<\/strong>ma, the ever serene<\/strong><\/h1>\n

The most idolized quality of Lord R\u0101ma is his sereneness. He is serene, who remains unperturbed, in any situation.<\/p>\n

The two most acclaimed instances, according to the epic of R\u0101m\u0101ya\u1e47a that occurred just after His victory over the Demon King in the vicious war proved His incredible serene nature.<\/p>\n

The first incident that describes His sereneness was when R\u0101ma wanted to instantly perform the last rites for His fallen foe despite Vibh\u012b\u1e63a\u1e47a\u2019s denial.<\/p>\n

The second instance where he helped his consort, S\u012bt\u0101, to prove her chastity, precisely showcases his sereneness besides his awareness, farsightedness, and sense of judgment.<\/p>\n

\n

R<\/strong>\u0101<\/strong>va<\/strong>\u1e47<\/strong>a<\/strong>\u2019<\/strong>s<\/strong> Final Rites<\/strong><\/h2>\n

 <\/strong>After R\u0101ma killed R\u0101va\u1e47a, he consoled the grieving Vibh\u012b\u1e63a\u1e47a saying there was no need to mourn for R\u0101va\u1e47a, for his death was glorious. R\u0101ma wanted the last rites for His fallen foe to be performed immediately, for his everlasting spiritual good.<\/p>\n

Vibh\u012b\u1e63a\u1e47a replied R\u0101ma that he felt reluctant to perform the funeral rites for his brother, who was cruel and had committed heinous sins.<\/p>\n

Lord R\u0101ma smiled at Vibh\u012b\u1e63a\u1e47a, explained to him that the soul is always worthy of respect and no disdain should ever be felt for the soul. So it was important to carry out the last rites for the eternal good of R\u0101va\u1e47a\u2019s immortal soul.<\/p>\n

After listening to these words, Vibh\u012b\u1e63a\u1e47a at once began the necessary rituals, strictly in accord with the scriptures.<\/p>\n

\n

S<\/strong>\u012b<\/strong>t<\/strong>\u0101<\/strong>\u2019<\/strong>s ordeal<\/strong><\/h2>\n

After establishing Vibh\u012b\u1e63a\u1e47a on La\u1e45k\u0101\u2019s throne, R\u0101ma asked Hanum\u0101n to proceed promptly to S\u012bt\u0101 and inform her that he longed to see Her. R\u0101ma was throbbing to see her again. Hanum\u0101n at once left. But S\u012bt\u0101 replied that she only wished to see R\u0101ma.<\/p>\n

Learning S\u012bt\u0101\u2019s condition, R\u0101ma asked Vibh\u012b\u1e63a\u1e47a to let S\u012bt\u0101 know that this was R\u0101ma\u2019s desire to which S\u012bt\u0101 accepted. As Vibh\u012b\u1e63a\u1e47a conducted S\u012bt\u0101 into His presence, R\u0101ma looked at her without smiling. S\u012bt\u0101 was overjoyed to see R\u0101ma again, and her face shone like the moon, but she felt abashed when she saw his grave expression.<\/p>\n

Lord R\u0101ma\u2019s heart was torn. He deeply wanted to show His love for S\u012bt\u0101 and accept her back at once, but He feared public censure. Questions about Her chastity might be raised, and that would have been unfair for the godly woman.<\/p>\n

So R\u0101ma asked her to choose a way of shelter with anyone but him. To this, S\u012bt\u0101 vowed to give her life in a burning pyre. Lak\u1e63man feeling deeply pained and perplexed constructed a pyre.<\/p>\n

\"\" The princess then prayed with her folded hands, that if she was unfaithful to R\u0101ma either in mind or body then she may burn but if all the Gods are the witness of her chastity, then the Fire God may protect her.<\/p>\n

Uttering this she disappeared into the flames. Lord R\u0101ma was blinded by tears. He was afflicted to hear the cries of the people. His mind was set on virtue and His heart wracked with grief as He watched S\u012bt\u0101 walk into the fire.<\/p>\n

The fire-god then emerged from the fire holding S\u012bt\u0101 in his arms. The princess shone brightly like the rising sun. Her face glowed with a transcendent beauty. The fire god placed S\u012bt\u0101 before R\u0101ma and explained her purity.<\/p>\n

R\u0101ma then replied, \u201cS\u012bt\u0101 needed this purificatory ordeal. She dwelt in R\u0101va\u1e47a\u2019s house for a long time, and her chastity had to be proven to the world, although I know of her undivided love for Me. S\u012bt\u0101 to me is as inseparable as sunlight from the sun.\u201d<\/p>\n

S\u012bt\u0101 bloomed with happiness.<\/p>\n

\n

A Talk to Remember<\/strong><\/h2>\n

One day \u015ar\u012b Chaitanya<\/a> Mah\u0101prabhu saw a br\u0101hma\u1e47a fasting. He asked him, \u201cWhy are you fasting? Why are you so unhappy? Why are you so worried?\u201d<\/p>\n

Br<\/strong>\u0101<\/strong>hma<\/strong>\u1e47<\/strong>a<\/strong> – I have no reason to live. I shall give up my life by entering either fire or water. My dear Sir, mother S\u012bt\u0101 is the mother of the universe and the Supreme Goddess of fortune. She has been touched, by the demon R\u0101va\u1e47a, and I am troubled on hearing this.<\/p>\n

\u015a<\/strong>r<\/strong>\u012b<\/strong> Chaitanya Mah<\/strong>\u0101<\/strong>prabhu<\/strong> – Please do not think this way any longer. You are a learned Pa\u1e47\u1e0dita. Why don\u2019t you consider the case?<\/p>\n

S\u012bt\u0101 Dev\u012b, the dearest wife of the Supreme Lord Ramachandra, certainly has a spiritual form full of bliss. No one can see her with material eyes, for no materialist has such power.<\/p>\n

To say nothing of touching mother S\u012bt\u0101, a person with material senses cannot even see her.<\/p>\n

According to the K\u016brma Pur\u0101\u1e47a, as soon as R\u0101va\u1e47a arrived before S\u012bt\u0101, with his evil intentions, she disappeared and then to cheat R\u0101va\u1e47a she created her illusory form. When R\u0101va\u1e47a kidnapped her, he kidnapped only her material, illusory form.<\/p>\n

When Mother S\u012bt\u0101, decided to walk into the pyre her illusory, was destroyed and the real S\u012bt\u0101 was brought back to the Supreme Lord Ramachandra by the Fire God.<\/p>\n

Listening to these facts, the Br\u0101hma\u1e47a was delighted. He thanked \u015ar\u012b Chaitanya Mah\u0101prabhu by referring Him as Lord R\u0101ma Himself who arrived in his life to purify his thoughts.<\/p>\n

\u015ar\u012b Chaitanya Mah\u0101prabhu assured the br\u0101hma\u1e47a, \u201cHave faith in My words and do not burden your mind any longer with this misconception.\u201d<\/p>\n
