As we enter into the auspicious ten days of the Dasara, which will culminate in the Vijayadashami, the day of victory of Good, represented by Lord <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iskconbangalore.org\/blog\/ramanavami-vrata\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Celebrating Sri Rama Navami: Observing the Vrata to Please Lord Sri Rama\">Rama<\/a> over the Evil-Ravana; we bring you a series of narrations from Ramayana, describing ten transcendental qualities of Lord Ramachandra, one for every day of the Dussehra.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><em>Please read and relish, like and share these articles, and you may also leave your comments to us.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<h1 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Quality 9<\/strong>:&nbsp;<strong>Lord R<\/strong><strong>\u0101<\/strong><strong>ma, the altruistic<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He is altruistic who is selfless and is always concerned for the well-being of others. Lord R\u0101ma, being a kshatriya, never desired to attain a throne, for which many would kill their family members.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">One such instance previously mentioned states how altruistic R\u0101ma unarguably accepted his exile and resigned from the throne, leaving it for his younger brother Bh\u0101rata.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The epic of R\u0101m\u0101ya\u1e47a majestically narrates the aftermath of the ferocious war between the ever altruistic Lord R\u0101ma and the selfish Demon King R\u0101va\u1e47a.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>The Battlefield <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong>The Demon king R\u0101va\u1e47a fell from his chariot with a loud cry. To their disbelief, everyone gazed at His still body that lay on the ground. Realizing that invincible R\u0101ma had slain their master, the remaining R\u0101k\u1e63asas fled in every direction. They shed tears of grief. The monkeys leapt and chased the fleeing R\u0101k\u1e63asas, shouting with joy.&nbsp;<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-5024 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.iskconbangalore.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/battlefield-1-300x245.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"245\" title=\"\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The sound of drums and other celestial instruments echoed from the sky. Delightful breezes blew on the battlefield carrying heavenly fragrance. A shower of dazzling flowers fell from the sky and covered Lord R\u0101ma\u2019s chariot. The gods and \u1e5b\u1e63is praised invincible R\u0101ma. The battle was over. R\u0101ma climbed down the chariot and was surrounded, by Lak\u1e63man, Sugr\u012bva, Hanum\u0101n, A\u1e45gada, J\u0101mbav\u0101n and Vibh\u012b\u1e63a\u1e47a, who praised and cheered Him for His incredible feat.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">After witnessing R\u0101va\u1e47a\u2019s destruction, the gods and \u1e5b\u1e63is departed joyfully for their various heavenly abodes. M\u0101tali bowed before R\u0101ma and received permission to return with his chariot to Indra. R\u0101ma watched as the celestial vehicle rose high into the sky and disappeared.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>The Lamentations<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As R\u0101ma was busy bidding farewell to the celestials. Vibh\u012b\u1e63a\u1e47a began to lament as he gazed upon his brother\u2019s dead body. He spoke while tears rolled down his cheeks, \u201cAlas, O R\u0101va\u1e47a, how have you been killed? The very fate which I predicted has come true. Overcome by lust, greed and anger, you have met the sure result of harbouring these three mortal enemies of the soul. O my brother, now that you fell dead, everything seems void. All of La\u1e45k\u0101 is lost.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Although shunned by R\u0101va\u1e47a, Vibh\u012b\u1e63a\u1e47a had loved his brother and had always desired his welfare.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">R\u0101va\u1e47a\u2019s wives then appeared on the battlefield. They rolled on the ground and cried in agony. R\u0101va\u1e47a\u2019s principal wife, Mandodar\u012b fainted upon seeing her husband dead on the battlefield. After regaining her senses, she gazed upon his face and lamented aloud, her voice choked, eyes full of tears, \u201cAlas, my lord! You\u2014who struck terror into the hearts of the gods, Gandharvas, Siddhas and even great \u1e5b\u1e63is\u2014now lie killed by a mere mortal who came walking from Ayodhy\u0101, a city of humans. I do not consider R\u0101ma to be an ordinary man. He must be the Supreme Personality of Godhead since none other could have laid you low.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mandodar\u012b unable to contain her grief, continued to cry, pitifully.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>The renunciation<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As Vibh\u012b\u1e63a\u1e47a continued to cry out. &nbsp;Lord R\u0101ma approached him and placed an arm around him, consoling him with soft words. Lak\u1e63man also consoled the grief-stricken Vibh\u012b\u1e63a\u1e47a by telling him spiritual truths.&nbsp;<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-5017 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.iskconbangalore.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/renounce-9-1-300x190.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"317\" height=\"201\" title=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.iskconbangalore.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/renounce-9-1-300x190.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.iskconbangalore.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/renounce-9-1-171x108.jpg 171w, https:\/\/www.iskconbangalore.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/renounce-9-1-400x255.jpg 400w, https:\/\/www.iskconbangalore.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/renounce-9-1.jpg 419w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 317px) 100vw, 317px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Lord R\u0101ma\u2019s fury with the R\u0101k\u1e63asas had subsided. Altruistic R\u0101ma desired to install the pious Vibh\u012b\u1e63a\u1e47a as its righteous ruler to quickly re-establish order in the devastated city.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Although Lord R\u0101ma, after killing R\u0101va\u1e47a and the majority of evil demons, easily could have captured Vibh\u012b\u1e63a\u1e47a and take up the throne of La\u1e45k\u0101. At least he could have annexed La\u1e45k\u0101 along with Bh\u0101rata\u2019s existing Kingdom. But altruistic R\u0101ma had never thought of any throne, let alone the throne of La\u1e45k\u0101.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">All He worried about was to get back to his long-separated wife. But before that, to instantly perform the funeral of R\u0101va\u1e47a. He stayed firm and kept advising Vibh\u012b\u1e63a\u1e47a to perform the funeral of his brother, explaining to him all the scriptural principles.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jaya Sri Ram!
