As we enter into the auspicious ten days of the Dasara, which will culminate in the Vijayadashami, the day of victory of Good, represented by Lord <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iskconbangalore.org\/blog\/ramanavami-vrata\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Celebrating Sri Rama Navami: Observing the Vrata to Please Lord Sri Rama\">Rama<\/a> over the Evil-Ravana; we bring you a series of narrations from Ramayana, describing ten transcendental qualities of Lord Ramachandra, one for every day of the Dussehra.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><em>Please read and relish, like and share these articles, and you may also leave your comments to us.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<h1 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Quality 7<\/strong>:&nbsp;<strong>Lord R<\/strong><strong>\u0101<\/strong><strong>ma, engages everyone in his service<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Lord R\u0101ma himself could have searched S\u012bt\u0101. He, in a matter of hours, could have located and destroyed entire La\u1e45k\u0101&nbsp;to its ruins.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The epic of R\u0101m\u0101ya\u1e47a wonderfully narrates the tale of Lord R\u0101ma engaging the monkeys, who had descended from heaven, to witness the glories of Lord R\u0101ma.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Let&#8217;s go through, the journey of Lord R\u0101ma engaging everyone in his service to locate S\u012bt\u0101.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>In search of Sugr<\/strong><strong>\u012b<\/strong><strong>va<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Lord R\u0101ma&#8217;s heart was burning, with the pain of separation from his beloved wife, S\u012bt\u0101. He cried out in anguish. Lak\u1e63man comforted His brother, and The two brothers continued Their search for Sugr\u012bva, as suggested by Kabandha. The Gandharva who was turned into a R\u0101k\u1e63asa by a curse of a&nbsp;\u1e5b\u1e63i.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Sugr\u012bva had heard those cries and told Hanum\u0101n, son of the wind-god V\u0101yu, to assume the form of a Brahmin and meet the warriors. The astute Hanum\u0101n strictly examined the two brothers. He could sense They were not ordinary men. The monkey had, an intense devotion for Vi\u1e63\u1e47u and as he looked at R\u0101ma, he felt his love awakened.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Hanum\u0101n decided to reveal his identity, and with folded palms, he told Them that he was Sugr\u012bva\u2019s minister. The brothers were relaxed and smiling.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Hanum\u0101n out of curiosity, humbly asked Lord R\u0101ma, about their presence in the forest. Lak\u1e63man told him, in brief, all that had happened to R\u0101ma from the point of His exile. The narration, of R\u0101ma\u2019s many misfortunes, distressed Lak\u1e63man and He spoke with tears streaming from his eyes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Within a few minutes, they reached to Sugr\u012bva. Setting the brothers down, he introduced Them to the monkey King and narrated him R\u0101ma\u2019s story. Sugr\u012bva extended his hand to R\u0101ma, who clasped it firmly, with Vedic mantras they sat by the fire and swore their alliance together.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Fulfilling his vow &amp; a clue of S<\/strong><strong>\u012b<\/strong><strong>t<\/strong><strong>\u0101<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Sugr\u012bva asked his security from his hostile brother, Vali. In return, he would search for S\u012bt\u0101&nbsp;using his monkey army. Vali had been born the son of Indra, so he possessed strength beyond compare. Invincible R\u0101ma vowed, to soon kill that immoral Vali.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Relieved Sugr\u012bva then showed R\u0101ma the cloth bundle S\u012bt\u0101&nbsp;had thrown. Emotional R\u0101ma saying that R\u0101va\u1e47a must have carried S\u012bt\u0101&nbsp;this way, asked Laksman to see those belongings of S\u012bt\u0101. Lakshman gazed at those and replied,&nbsp;\u201cI do not recognize the armlets or earrings, for I have never looked at the face or body of the prin<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-5012 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.iskconbangalore.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/P-096-268x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"272\" height=\"305\" title=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.iskconbangalore.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/P-096-268x300.jpg 268w, https:\/\/www.iskconbangalore.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/P-096.jpg 336w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 272px) 100vw, 272px\" \/>cess. But I recognize the anklets, which I saw each day as I bowed at Her feet.\u201d This amazed R\u0101ma.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">R\u0101ma then fulfilled his vow and killed Vali. He reinstated Sughriva as the monkey king. As monsoon neared, R\u0101ma advised Sugr\u012bva to stay in the palace at Kishkindha and wait until it got over.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">After the monsoons passed, R\u0101ma, was in deep pain, on the other hand, Sugr\u012bva, fell for the pleasures that the Crown had offered him. Seeing all this, worried Hanum\u0101n aroused the king, Sugr\u012bva and reminded his promise to Lord R\u0101ma.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Sugr\u012bva then amassed a force, sufficient to encounter all the R\u0101k\u1e63asas.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;<strong>The search for S<\/strong><strong>\u012b<\/strong><strong>t<\/strong><strong>\u0101<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>begins<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As millions of fierce monkey warriors, came to Kishkindha the earth vibrated. Sugr\u012bva took all of them and went again into R\u0101ma\u2019s presence and asked for his command. R\u0101ma heard Sugr\u012bva speaking with Hanum\u0101n and was confident of success, as much as <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-5004 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.iskconbangalore.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/engages-7-300x238.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"238\" title=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.iskconbangalore.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/engages-7-300x238.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.iskconbangalore.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/engages-7.jpg 336w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>Sugr\u012bva was. Lord R\u0101ma then joyfully handed Hanum\u0101n a ring inscribed with His name to show S\u012bt\u0101&nbsp;as a proof that R\u0101ma had sent him.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The monkeys dispatched by Sugr\u012bva began their search. They scanned cities, towns and villages. As the monkeys searched each cave systematically, they found a yogin\u012b, Swayamprabha, meditating in a beautiful cave. She could understand that they were R\u0101ma\u2019s servants. She was so pleased to have the opportunity to serve R\u0101ma by entertaining His servants. The yogin\u012b&nbsp;served the monkeys delicious food and drinks, which invigorated them.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">After a further stern search, they reached the southern ocean. Disappointed with the situation, they decided to fast till death. There they met a wingless, old bird Sampati, brother of Ja\u1e6d\u0101yu. A\u1e45gad\u0101, son of Vali then asked him whereabouts of R\u0101va\u1e47a.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The bird told A\u1e45gad\u0101 that, R\u0101va\u1e47a lived in La\u1e45k\u0101, situated amid the southern ocean eight hundred miles away. The princess was being held captive in R\u0101va\u1e47a\u2019s garden, guarded by fierce R\u0101k\u1e63as\u012bs. He then requested them, to cross the ocean and locate La\u1e45k\u0101&nbsp;immediately.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Hanum<\/strong><strong>\u0101<\/strong><strong>n\u2019s might<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">To, cross the ocean was not an easy task, the monkeys wondered. Then, J\u0101mbav\u0101n, a great leader of the bears, spoke to Hanum\u0101n who was sitting silently. He described Hanum\u0101n\u2019s identity and capabilities. As a child, he possessed invincible prowess and thus was mischievous too.&nbsp;<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-5011 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.iskconbangalore.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/P-106-251x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"251\" height=\"300\" title=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.iskconbangalore.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/P-106-251x300.jpg 251w, https:\/\/www.iskconbangalore.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/P-106.jpg 336w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 251px) 100vw, 251px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">To neutralise him the&nbsp;\u1e5b\u1e63is had uttered a curse,&nbsp;\u201cYou will forget your great power. Only when you will hear your powers described by another, you will again remember them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This speech had ended the&nbsp;\u1e5b\u1e63is\u2019&nbsp;curse. Hanum\u0101n remembered, his great prowess and he flew to La\u1e45k\u0101, loudly uttering,&nbsp;\u201cJai&nbsp;\u015ar\u012b&nbsp;Ram!\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Hanum\u0101n thought of R\u0101ma that by remembering R\u0101ma\u2019s name itself, anyone could cross the entire ocean of material suffering.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">After reaching La\u1e45k\u0101, Hanum\u0101n searched S\u012bt\u0101, house after house and finally, He spotted her lying near the temple. As his heart leapt with joy, agony followed, to see Her in such a wretched condition that resembled the eclipsed moon.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Hanum\u0101n wanted to comfort S\u012bt\u0101, but he doubted that she might consider it as a trickery used by R\u0101va\u1e47a. So he started praising R\u0101ma, narrating his story. S\u012bt\u0101&nbsp;was struck with wonder, felt joy upon hearing R\u0101ma\u2019s glory described. But She was still suspicious.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Hanum\u0101n reassured Her by showing her the ring given to him by the Lord himself. As S\u012bt\u0101&nbsp;was comforted, Hanum\u0101n narrated R\u0101ma\u2019s situation and the plan. Hanum\u0101n took the jewel which S\u012bt\u0101&nbsp;gave him and bowed low to S\u012bt\u0101.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Enraged Hanum\u0101n wanted to test, the potential of the R\u0101va\u1e47a&#8217;s army before leaving La\u1e45k\u0101. He slew thousands of R\u0101k\u1e63asas who had gathered there. Hanum\u0101n then blazed a large part of La\u1e45k\u0101, with his tail.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Mission accomplished<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Hanum\u0101n fulfilled his desire and returned to his team. Within a few minutes, they had arrived and prostrated themselves before Sugr\u012bva and R\u0101ma. Hanum\u0101n sat before R\u0101ma, with folded palms, he said,&nbsp;\u201cMy lord, Mother S\u012bt\u0101&nbsp;has been found.\u201d&nbsp;R\u0101ma\u2019s face shone like a Sun.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Hanum\u0101n narrated everything to R\u0101ma and Sugr\u012bva. Lord R\u0101ma took S\u012bt\u0101\u2019s yellow jewel from Hanum\u0101n. He pressed it to His bosom and wept softly.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">R\u0101ma lamented that He could never repay the monkey for the service he had rendered. He then declared Hanum\u0101n as his first-class servant and then tightly hugged him.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The v\u0101nara army was pleased. The opportunity, they had to serve the Supreme Personality of Godhead, was not wasted. They were ready for the final battle to bring S\u012bt\u0101&nbsp;back, even by giving their lives. They felt blessed and redeemed of their sins. They thanked Lord R\u0101ma, the Supreme Lord, for offering them an opportunity to render their services to him, which otherwise their monkey nature would have never allowed them to.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As both parties prepared for war, happiness and good omens flourished towards Lord R\u0101ma\u2019s side while La\u1e45k\u0101&nbsp;was in a panic. They compared the carnage, Hanum\u0101n had caused them, to that of, R\u0101ma was about to bring.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jaya Sri Ram!
