\n<\/em><\/p>\n

Brahma-sa\u1e41hit\u0101 informs us that the Supreme Lord Sri Krishna, who is absolute, infallible, and without beginning, expands Himself into unlimited forms:\u00a0ananta-r\u016b<\/em>pam<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sri Krishna has unlimited forms. Srimad Bh\u0101gavatam compares the innumerable incarnations of the Lord to the rivulets flowing from inexhaustible sources of water.<\/p>\n

avat\u0101<\/em>r\u0101<\/em> hy asa\u1e45<\/em>khyey\u0101<\/em> hare\u1e25<\/em> sattva-nidher dvij\u0101\u1e25<\/em>
\nyath\u0101<\/em>vid\u0101<\/em>sina\u1e25<\/em> kuly\u0101\u1e25<\/em> sarasa\u1e25<\/em> syu\u1e25<\/em> sahasra\u015b<\/em>a\u1e25<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

avat\u0101<\/em>r\u0101<\/em> hy asa\u1e45<\/em>khyey\u0101<\/em>:<\/span>\u00a0It is not possible to count. But they are all one. They are described as\u00a0a\u1e41\u015b<\/em>a-kal\u0101\u1e25<\/em>:<\/span>\u00a0plenary expansions or parts of the plenary expansions. Krishna is the fountainhead of all incarnations:\u00a0ete c\u0101\u1e41\u015b<\/em>a-kal\u0101\u1e25<\/em> pu\u1e41<\/em>sa\u1e25<\/em> k\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47<\/em>as tu bhagav\u0101<\/em>n svaya\u1e41<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

In the Chaitanya<\/a> Charitamrita it is mentioned:\u00a0ekale \u012b\u015b<\/em>vara k\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47<\/em>a, \u0101<\/em>ra saba bh\u1e5b<\/em><\/span>tya:<\/span>\u00a0<\/em>Krishna alone is the Supreme Personality of Godhead, and all others, not only the living entities, even the various other forms of Krishna are His servitors.<\/p>\n

The various incarnations of the Lord appear in this material world with a very specific mission to accomplish. Their activities are extraordinary. No other human being can perform such activities.<\/p>\n

Srila Prabhupada says:<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Lord is the inexhaustible source for innumerable incarnations which are distinguished by specific extraordinary feats which are impossible to be performed by any living being.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The Pastime Incarnations<\/h2>\n

paritr<\/em>\u0101\u1e47\u0101<\/em>ya s<\/em>\u0101<\/em>dh<\/em>\u016b<\/em>n<\/em>\u0101\u1e41<\/em> vin<\/em>\u0101\u015b\u0101<\/em>ya ca du<\/em>\u1e63<\/em>k<\/em>\u1e5b<\/em>t<\/em>\u0101<\/em>m<\/em>:<\/span>\u00a0The Lord appears in every millennium to protect His devotees.\u00a0Lord Narasi\u1e41ha<\/a><\/span>\u00a0appeared to protect His devotee Prahlada. He also punishes demons like Hiranyakashipu who try to persecute His dear devotees.\u00a0dharma-sa<\/em>\u1e41<\/em>sth<\/em>\u0101<\/em>pan<\/em>\u0101<\/em>rth<\/em>\u0101<\/em>ya<\/em>:<\/span>\u00a0In every millennium He appears to re-establish the religious principles.\u00a0Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu<\/a><\/span> appeared\u00a0to establish the\u00a0Kali-yuga<\/a><\/span>\u00a0dharma of\u00a0chanting<\/a><\/span>\u00a0the Holy Names of the Lord.<\/p>\n

As mentioned earlier, each and every incarnation of the Lord has a particular mission, and they are all described in the revealed scriptures. The Lord appeared as Matsya, K\u016brma, Var\u0101ha, Narasi\u1e41ha, V\u0101mana, and many others: and every time He had a specific purpose or mission to execute.<\/p>\n
