Tastes of India at ISKCON
Are you a veggie, a foodie and one with ‘cosmopolitan' tastebuds? If you are waiting to wrap your palate round something more exotic than rice baath or rava dosa, then ISKCON at Rajajinagar is the place to be - on December 31 and January 1.

Under the banner of Akshaya Patra, ISKCON is organising ‘Tastes of India', a multi-cultural food festival in which vegetarian items of India and neighbouring countries will be featured. The festival will begin at 7 pm on December 31. (And for that dash of cine glamour, Kannada actress Sudharani will be part of the inaugural ceremony.)

The festival offers more than 50 delights, including regional special Kakori kababs , Kabuli naan of Afghanistan, Burmese khou suey, momos from Nepal, gado gado from Indonesia, bonchi uyala from Sri Lanka, khubani ka meeta from Pakistan and many more mouth-watering dishes.

The organisers have made it clear that items to be served at the festival will be pure vegetarian, no-onion and no-garlic items. For dessert, you can scoop up dollops of ice-creams without any additives and made of fruits.

Money collected from donors will be spent for the Akshaya Patra programme, one of India's largest mid-day meal initiatives, which feeds over 5,18,600 children across the country.

Donor passes are available at Vijayalakshmi Silks, MG Road, all branches of Pizza Corner and ISKCON. For further details, call 23471956.
