Rules for contest code 26:
1. Students in a team of three to seven can participate.
(Group entries only)
2. One or two singers with a minimum of two accompanying artists (instrumentalists) are eligible for the contest.
3. The accompanying instrumental artist/s can play for different groups.
4. Students will have to bring their own instruments and can play any Indian or non-Indian musical instrument. Alaap and swarprashthana are optional.
5. Singers should sing a song composed by devotional composers like the Dasas of Karnataka, Sri Annamacharya, Sri Thyagaraja, Sant Tukaram, Surdas, Ramdas and others.
6 Participants will be judged for the lyrics, raga, bhava, & coordination of the song.
7. The students should submit the song lyrics and a half page summary either in English or Kannada on the day of the contest.The judge at his discretion may ask a question related to the song.
8 A maximum of four minutes will be provided for each team on stage for the qualifying round and six minutes for the final round.
9. Only three entries per school.
