Rules for contest codes 16 & 17:
1. Students in a group of 4 to 12 can participate. (Group entries only).
2. The students can perform any of the Indian folk dances (Bhangra, Karaga, Garbha, Dhandia, Konkani, Dolu Kunitha, Kamsale, Lavani, etc. Film songs and Western styles are not allowed).
3. The dance will be judged for its choreography, coordination & expression.
4. The dance should depict a theme from the vedic texts.
5. Live or recorded music can be used. Students should provide the cassette or CD with the music for their dance at the time of registration. A tape recorder or CD player will be provided to play the same.
6. Costumes and make-up is required only for the finals. Paticipants can come in dance class uniform (grown up girls may wear Adiyar sari). For the finals costumes should be traditional and will be the students' responsibility.
7. A maximum of three minutes will be given for the qualifying round and five minutes for the final round.
8. Only one entry per school.
