| Rules for contest code 08: |
| 1. |
Students in a group of 4 to 16 can participate. (Group entries only). |
| 2. |
The students should select a story from the vedic texts. Final communication of the theme of the drama should be specific. |
| 3. |
The script should be a combination of dance elements and dialogues (like Yakshagana, ballet dances, Indian classical or folk style depicting Gajendra moksha, Bali moksha, Dashavatara, etc. (Western styles are not allowed) |
| 4. |
Live or recorded music may be used. Students should provide the cassette or CD with the music for their item at the time of registartion. A tape recorder or CD player will be provided to play the same. |
| 5. |
The dance elements in the dance drama should be Indian classical or folk dance styles (Western styles are not allowed). |
| 6. |
Costumes and make-up is required only for the finals. Participants can come in dance class uniforms (grown up girls may wear Adiyar sari) for the preliminary round. |
| 7. |
For the finals the costumes & make up should be appropriate and it will be the student's responsibility. |
| 8. |
A maximum of 12 minutes will be given for the qualifying round and 15 minutes for the final round. |
| 9. |
Only one entry per school. |
