My country, El Salvador, is one of the six
countries in Central America. The main
objective of our government is to attain growth in order to fight poverty. Our efforts over the last twenty years have allowed us to reduce poverty from 60% to 34% of the population. In order for our programmes to be successful we need awareness from as many sectors and institutions in El Salvador. I must say your programme is absolutely impressive because I fully understand how complex your job is. May I congratulate you for your efforts for the children of India. fail to explain my feeling.
I can sense the teaching of
Gita in its most meaningful
essence in this place. The midday
meal is a remarkable initiative
touching a vital segment of
our society. I salute Swamiji
and his entire entourage for

Today
that is, the 28th of May, 2002,
I paid a visit to ISKCON temple
at Bangalore and saw the entire
complex. Also I was given an
opportunity to see the slide
projection on the midday meal
program taken up by the management
of ISKCON, Bangalore. To comment on this program it's not necessary to write many words of praise except saying a wonderful achievement. I am extremely happy to know the program and have learnt quite a good lesson from what I have seen today. May God bless the organization to continue such noble works. Dr.

is meant to transform individuals
to the ideals of living. However
higher ideals cannot be achieved
when the stomachs go regularly
hungry. Yet millions of our
children go to school undernourished,
thereby dreams of realizing
their true potential is getting
shattered. ISKCON, Bangalore,
is doing yeoman service in this
regard. Many underprivileged
school children are fed one
nutritious meal a day in their
Akshaya Patra Scheme. The studies
have already shown that it is
doing wonders to the children's
learning capabilities. ISKCON,
Bangalore, has taken a right
step in helping children to
become higher beings. ISKCON,
Bangalore, deserves all appreciation
and encouragement.
