His Divine Grace
A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, founder-acharya of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness, came to America in 1965, at age 69, to fulfil his spiritual master's request that he teach the science of Krishna consciousness throughout the English-speaking world. In a dozen years he published some seventy volumes of translation and commentary on India's Vedic literature, and these are now standard in universities worldwide. Meanwhile, traveling almost nonstop, Srila Prabhupada molded his international society into a world wide confederation of ashramas, schools, temples and farm communities. he passed away in 1977, in Vrindavana, the place most sacred to Lord Krishna. His disciples and followers are carrying forward the movement he started.

The Nationalism of Pure Consciousness
by A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami |
When a man enters the room of a friend, the friend receives the man with all cordiality, and offers him the best
couch for his comfort. The friend may accept this welcome and sit along with his host in all security. Does this
mean that the man who has entered the house of his friend should consider the sitting room to be his own property?
Certainly, he will not think so unless he has gone mad. Still, his consciousness of the fact that none of the
paraphernalia of the friend's sitting room belongs to him does not disturb him in the least in sitting down securely.
With this pure consciousness of facility, along with his friend who is actually the proprietor of the sitting room, he
is comfortable.

the attraction of the senses for the objects of the senses
we try to enjoy and find happiness where there is no
happiness. Therefore, we are forced to take our births
again and again.

ACHYUTA Drive My Chariot
by Patitoddharana dasa
|
."Achyuta, drive my chariot!" This was the command given
by Arjuna, the great devotee of the Supreme Personality
of Godhead Lord Sri Krishna, unto Lord Krishna Himself
on the battlefield of Kuruksetra. Lord Krishna, who was
attracted to Arjuna's attitude of pure love, was acting as
the chariot driver of His devotee. Their conversation on
the chariot has been recorded by the great sage Srila
Vyasadeva, and it is still well known in many languages
in many lands, for their talks comprise the verses of the
scripture Bhagavad-gita.

Are they the same thing?
by Giriraja Swami |
Before I met Srila Prabhupada, I had wanted to serve humanity. Then I heard from Srila rabhupada about the
importance of serving Lord Krishna. Still the question remained: How does God's service relate to man's?
After a week of hearing from Srila Prabhupada, I got the chance to ask after Srila Prabhupada concluded a lecture:
