ISKCON Heritage Fest 2011- A Cultural carnival of contests

An exclusive opportunity for students to exhibit their creative talents

In this age of cutting edge competition, life skills and harmonious personality have become the defining parameters for long term success in life-professional or personal. Artistic and literary pursuits not only give vent to the innovative and creative faculties of the mind but also play a significant role in harnessing emotional quotient or EQ.

Here is an amazing opportunity for students to discover the creative and innovative talents within- ISKCON Heritage Fest, being conducted by the Cultural Education Services (CES) department. It is a month long entertaining and enlightening cultural carnival of contests for students between LKG and Class 10 from July 9, 2011 to August 7, 2011 at ISKCON, Bangalore and four other allied venues. The four other venues are - Yelahanka, Indiranagar, Ullal Upanagara and KR Puram.

Heritage Fest is an annual cultural extravaganza of CES which endeavors to bridge the cultural divide in this era of tech-frenzy, increasing juvenile delinquency and stressed lifestyle of kids. It provides a unique opportunity to them to participate in a host of over thirty five cultural events and contests. To mention a few –Classical Dance, Coloring, Drama, Dance Drama, Gita Singing, Gita Sloka Chanting, Vedic Quiz, Vocal Music and many more.

The entry fee is Rs 15 per student per event. Last date for submission of entries is July 8, 2011. Finals will be held at ISKCON, Bangalore on August 5, 6 and 7, 2011. The stage dimension for the entire contest is 12’x 36’. Students need to practice accordingly. The decision of the judges will be final for all contests. Prize winners of each contest will be notified a day after the contest and the same will be made available on www.iskconbangalore.org/heritagefest

The winners of all contests will be given attractive prizes in a special prize distribution ceremony. Special awards will be given to the top five schools and to the teachers who have trained the winners. “Heritage Fest Trophy” will be awarded to the institution that has scored the maximum points.
